Goals:
• To instill a desire for peace, and the skills to practice peace, in each student.
• To enable each student to grow in the love of God and the knowledge of the Catholic Christian faith.
• To increase each student’s knowledge and understanding of God’s Word in sacred Scripture.
• To assist each student in the formation of his or her conscience.
• To provide opportunities for liturgical, prayer, and service-related activities.
Curriculum:
• Grade 6: Old Testament; Ten Commandments; Creating Peace, Building Community; Growing in Love-Part of the Love Story of Salvation; Bible memory versus.
• Grade 7: Jesus in the New Testament; Prayer; Creating Peace, Building Community; Growing in Love-Loving as Christ Loves; Bible memory versus.
• Grade 8: Church History; Apostles’ Creed; Conflict Resolution in American History; Growing in Love-Living the Gospel of Life; Bible memory versus.
Opportunities for growth in faith are also provided outside of the classroom setting through daily prayer, school Masses, Advent and Lenten prayer services, service projects, and more.
