                Chapter 3---Animal Diversity

 

~Animals are classified when you place them in groups by characteristics that they share.

 

Students need to create a poster (poster board size) showing the different classifications/categories that animals can be placed under.  Students need to choose 7 of the 9 classifications/categories to use on their poster and they need to include a minimum of 5 pictures for each classifications/categories.  The pictures can be drawn, cut from a magazine, or printed off the internet.

*Note-Some animals may fit into more than one category 

 

THE 9 CLASSIFICATIONS OF ANIMALS

·        Vertebrates

·        Non vertebrates

·        Fish

·        Birds

·        Mammals

·        Amphibians

·        Reptiles

·        Cold blooded

·        Warm blooded

The project will be graded on completeness, accuracy, and neatness. The names of the categories/classifications need to be visible on the poster.

The finished project is DUE ON NOVEMBER 30th.  If the project is turned in late there will be 10 points deducted for EACH day it is late.
